HAPPY BIRTHDAY GENDI! (and Genuine)

so people always complain that i never blog and well, i don't have a job where i can spend time on the computer!! (hahah, adrian & kwan...)

but life is always just as busy. let's just say that i still haven't cleaned my house and this week, i hope will be a time where i can make a huge difference in my living room. hopefully i can book everything that i need to book at the right time. however, i find that i'm at home more often than i was two years ago when i worked at nycbc. i'm pretty sure that i was out almost every night after camp but this year, i'm doing pretty good.

so i finished that tesl course (josh: it was six long long saturdays) and i finished bloorview macmillan (king: i probably didn't see you because i worked at the macmillan site). i've just finished my fifth week working at the North York YMCA Day Camp and i must say it has been challenging to be a one-on-one support worker for kids with special needs. my first two weeks was one of the most difficult b/c the kid i had was severely autistic and quite abusive as well. the next two weeks was with a really cute girl who really was like a baby and taught me so much about future motherhood. actually, the whole camp experience has taught me so much. i've learned to wash my bathing suit everyday, pack my lunch, fill up with water, wash my clothes, wake up at a specific time every day and then during the day, feed my kid, hold her and walk with her, change her diaper, etc. VERY MOTHERLY! :) i've passed the "mothering course" hahaha...

and softball has been better than i thought it would be. i've really enjoyed the diversity in the ages and the diversity in skill on our team. honestly, i feel like i've met 30 new people b/c i really only knew 6 people going into the team. i feel that God blessed us with what it means to enjoy people and not just the game of softball. it's like sharing the gospel because it's like sharing the game of softball with people who don't know how to play... :) haha, i love it. i really never knew that many people in the english ministry and nearly everyone i knew in the english side of my church is on the other team. so it's been great, just getting to know everyone. summerlicious was awesome.... nice to see people "dressed up".

well, i'll sign in more later. going to summer conference for the weekend. looking forward to what i can learn there!

in Christ,
melo.
